The Results Are In . . .
. . . and the ballot question approving construction of our downtown sewer pipes passed by a solid majority of 1,102 in favor of moving forward and 412 opposed!
Many thanks to all of you who went out and voted, who encouraged their neighbors to vote, who offered rides to the polls for any who needed it, and, most importantly, to everyone who offered their time and energy to protect our waters.
This is an important step for the future in Orleans. Our town will move from studies, plans, and designs to actually starting building our future. As we heard during the debate, there are still many details to work out and many questions to answer. However, Orleans voters have sent a clear message: let’s get to work while we solve those remaining challenges.
At OPC, our mission and vision are clear. The Orleans Pond Coalition is dedicated to the protection and health of our shared watersheds, estuaries, ponds and lakes. We envision healthy waters and watersheds achieved through leadership in water quality education, advocacy, programs and partnerships.
