August 10, 2018 By Orleans Pond Coalition

Sunday, September 14th, 9:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m. at Nauset Beach South (Map location #4)

Join Stephen O’Grady, Executive Director of Orleans Conservation Trust, on a five mile hike from the south end of Nauset Beach parking lot to Pochet Island. A member of the Payson family will join the group at the island’s bridge to walk the island and share the Payson family’s history, its recent restoration of the sandplain grassland habitat, and extraordinary views of ocean and bay. This is a long and challenging hike through loose sand and changing topography. BRING WATER AND LUNCH.  Dress for ticks. Be prepared for a short wading stretch of up to eight inches of water at high tide. This hike and is not recommended for children.

*Reservations required. Please click on the Reservation button below, which will take you to the Orleans Conservation Trust. Follow the prompts for reserving your spot. We will accept registrations on a first come first serve basis. This is a popular event and unfortunately due to restrictions, we will be unable to accommodate unregistered individuals. Also – Due to limitations on the total number of reservations which can be accepted, reservations across all events will be closely monitored and no one will be allowed to make more than one reservation for a particular person during any simultaneous time period.
