Technical Resources

Brewster Ponds Coalition

Dedicated to preserving and nurturing the natural beauty, healthy habitats, and recreational opportunities of Brewster’s Ponds, and to safeguard them for current and future generations.

Cape Cod Commission

Leads, supports, and enforces the development of regional plans, policies, regulations, and infrastructure to guide and manage growth, and by supporting the 15 Cape Code towns with professional and cost-effective planning and technical support services.

Center for Coastal Studies

Conduct scientific research with emphasis on marine mammals of the western North Atlantic and on the coastal and marine habitats and resources of the Gulf of Maine; promotes stewardship of coastal and marine ecosystems; conduct s educational activities and provides educational resources that encourage the responsible use and conservation of coastal and marine ecosystems; and collaborates with other institutions and individuals whenever possible to advance the Center’s mission.

Orleans Water Quality Advisory Panel

Pleasant Bay Alliance

The Pleasant Bay Alliance is formed by the Towns of Orleans, Chatham, Harwich and Brewster to coordinate the resource management plan for the Pleasant Bay ACEC and watershed. The Alliance’s projects, programs and studies promote healthy natural resources and safe public access throughout Pleasant Bay. The state has recognized the Alliance as “an example of how other ACECs and communities across the Commonwealth can cooperatively plan for and protect sensitive natural resources.” 

Alliance programs encompass technical research, policy analysis, and public outreach to preserve natural coastal processes, reduce watershed nutrient loading, promote safe navigation, and sustain the health of fisheries, wetlands and water quality.

A nationally and internationally recognized research institution located in New Bedford, Massachusetts.
