- Pond area: 5.7 acres
- Maximum depth: 19.9 ft (6.1 m)
- Location: Ice House Pond is located just to the west of Brick Hill Road and to the northeast of Reuben’s Pond
- Water access, parking: Parking at 245 Tonset Road or 64 Captain Curtis Way gives access to the OCT walking trails leading to Ice House Pond. There is also access from Brick Hill Road, with parking along the street for 1-2 cars.
- Boat ramp / boat access: no boat ramp; it is a short distance from Brick Hill Road to the pond shoreline for kayak/canoe launch.
- Recreational Uses: Walking, birding, fishing.
- Fishing: Ice House Pond is a warm water fishery and primarily has largemouth and smallmouth bass, yellow perch and pickerel. A MA state fishing license is required.
Other Fun Facts:
- Ice House Pond is named for its history of providing ice for residents’ ice boxes to see them through the warmer months.
- Ice House Pond is popular for bird watching throughout the year; it’s an important stopover site for many species of migrating waterfowl. Other species, including wood ducks, are thought to nest by the pond, while the surrounding woodlands shelter warblers and birds of prey.
