The H2Orleans Pond Pledge is a program to encourage residents of Orleans to take simple but important actions to preserve and enhance our ponds, lakes and saltwater estuaries for recreational enjoyment and the health of our ecosystems. Join us by taking the Pledge!
The H2Orleans Pond Pledge:
1. Avoid fertilizers and pesticides
2. Support the Town’s sewering efforts
3. Embrace a Cape-friendly lawn
We encourage everyone – whether or not you live on or near a pond or lake – to take the Pond Pledge and place one of our new signs on your property. We all live close to our waters whether it’s visible or not. It’s right beneath us all!
We have beautiful, new Pond Pledge signs.
The new Pond Pledge signs are 9-inches in diameter and are made of weather-resistant metal. They are mounted on 36-inch stakes, provided courtesy of Agway, for easy installation.
Signing up for the H2Orleans Pond Pledge is easy.
After you sign up below, OPC will deliver a new Pond Pledge sign to you at your Orleans home address within 3-5 days. (No P.O. boxes or out-of-town addresses please.)
While the signs are free, if you’d like to make a small donation of $15 to defray the cost, we would greatly appreciate it. You can pay by credit card or by scanning the QR code to send a donation via Venmo.
